Basic recipe for
Pan bread or pan pizza
We camp to be in the moment and like to look for the most beautiful spots in the mountains, by a lake or a river or with a mystical view in the middle of a forest. And then we notice that there is no bread left in the camping cupboard and we know this moment all too well :-) So we would like to share with you our favorite recipe for quick pan bread or pan pizza. If you have time, make it with yeast, for a quick camping pan bread you can also use the version with baking powder.
Ingredients for about 6 loaves or pizzas:
- 100 ml water (~ approx. 1/3 large Roadtyping enamel mug or 1/2 small cup )
- 300 g flour (~1.5 large roadtyping enamel cups )
- 1 pack of dry yeast or 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar, syrup, agave syrup or similar
- 50 g yoghurt
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp oil
- Spices as desired e.g. bread spice, coriander seeds, black cumin or herbs

Preparation:
Knead all the ingredients into a dough. If you have used yeast, let the dough rise for at least 30 minutes. With baking powder it will be ready straight away. Divide the dough into about 6 equal pieces and form flat loaves the size of a pan.
For the pan bread
Fry the bread on both sides in a hot pan or bake it with a lid on. You can use oil in the pan as you like.
For the pan pizza
Place the dough in a pan and top it with your favorite pizza ingredients. It's best to bake the topped pizza on a low heat with the lid on so that the cheese melts.
Tips
Of course, the recipe is also perfect for the grill, a cast iron pot or pan over the fire or in the Omnia . The bread also tastes delicious as a dip for a stew or a curry or dal.
