Baking in stainless steel
Lunchbox by Roadtyping

This is a really great trick if you need new ideas for your lunchbox or want to conjure up a truly delicious picnic in the mountains or park. Why not bake your favorite recipes, such as cakes or casseroles, directly in the Roadtyping Lunchbox ?

Can stainless steel bread boxes go in the oven?

Our bread box with integrated cutting board and our leakproof lunchbox are made of stainless steel and are therefore oven-safe. Stainless steel is melted and shaped at significantly higher temperatures, so the lunchbox can be safely placed in the oven at, for example, 180°C.

Did you know that our three leakproof lunchboxes were created during our North America road trip ( read about our ultimate road trip through Canada and the USA here ) and are therefore named after particularly beautiful places there: Jasper (a national park in Canada),Big Sur (a wonderful stretch of road in California) and Bonavista (a place where you can observe puffins in Newfoundland, Canada)?

  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • A little salt
  • 1 free-range egg
  • 80 g flour
  • 1 tsp starch
  • about 1 tablespoon of milk or oat milk
  • 2 small apples or one large apple

Preparation:

  1. Grease the lunchbox and dust it with flour or breadcrumbs.
  2. Cream the margarine and sugar until fluffy, then gradually add the other ingredients.
  3. Cut the apple into pieces.
  4. Fill the dough into the greased and floured bread box and add the apple pieces, then mix everything well.
  5. Bake the apple pie for approximately 15-20 minutes at 180°C using a hot air (or fan-assisted oven).
  6. Let it cool down, put the lid on, put it in our lunch bag and off to the mountain or the lake.
